Founded in 2018 by Dr. Evan Alvord, Rogue Psych Consultants LLC is dedicated to expanding high-quality, in-person mental health care for residents of skilled nursing, memory care, assisted living, and residential care communities throughout Oregon. We believe that in-person care fosters deeper connections, more accurate assessments, and more effective interventions, ultimately enhancing residents’ quality of life.

Our team of skilled local clinicians—including psychologists, licensed therapists, neuropsychologists, and a primary mental health nurse practitioner—provide weekly on-site mental health services while collaborating closely with facility staff through consultation and active participation in the interdisciplinary team.

Join the 75+ communities across Oregon already partnering with Rogue Psych Consultants to bring compassionate, effective and holistic mental health care to their residents.

Resident Services

We provide psychiatric diagnostic evaluations, develop behavior plans aligned with facility care plans, offer individual therapy and conduct risk assessments to help reduce unnecessary hospitalizations.

All documentation is entered into the facility EHR to support compliance, survey readiness, track outcomes, and enhance resident care.

Staff Consultation

Clinicians collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide diagnostic clarification, behavioral and medication guidance, risk management, care coordination, and de-escalation support, offering weekly on-site consultations and on-call assistance for emergent needs.

This collaboration improves staff understanding, eases stress, and enables them to focus on delivering high-quality care to residents.

FAQs

Are your services available to every resident?

Providers are credentialed with Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans. Our third-party biller manages all insurance credentialing and billing, streamlining services for facilities. Our mission is to provide on-site care to as many residents as possible.

How do you support gradual dose reduction (GDR) of psychotropic medications?

Clinicians provide non-pharmacological interventions to reduce or optimize psychotropic use. They can attend psychotropic meetings to review medication efficacy and side effects and ensure clear, thorough documentation in the facility EHR to meet state requirements.

Do you have a psychiatric prescriber on your team?

We currently partner with a PMHNP in Central Oregon and are looking to expand this service. At Rogue Psych, prescribers and therapists work closely together to provide comprehensive, coordinated support for residents.

What makes your services most valuable to facilities?

Rogue Psych Consultants enhances residents’ quality of life through consistent, person-centered therapy. We support staff with behavior planning and intervention strategies, conduct risk assessments to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and monitor psychotropic medication effectiveness alongside non-pharmacological interventions.

On-site care offers significant advantages over telehealth, including stronger resident relationships, real-time support during behavioral or medical concerns, in-person and on-call staff consultation, and more accurate assessments through direct observation.
